Mets–Willets Point / 7 subway

Mets–Willets Point / Port Washington LIRR

7 subway

Fits: A subway-connected NYC base and a workable return.

Tradeoff: Select on actual local service, not a promised express. Verify direction-specific access.

Verify: check the linked operator for this event/date and your chosen origin.

Return: confirm this mode’s return and any connection separately; no last departure is promised.

Port Washington LIRR

Fits: Penn/Grand Central/Woodside or Port Washington Branch origin.

Tradeoff: Other-branch connections require planning; distinguish rail access from subway accessibility.

Verify: check the linked operator for this event/date and your chosen origin.

Return: confirm this mode’s return and any connection separately; no last departure is promised.

Driving/parking

Fits: Car-dependent origin, group or onward itinerary.

Tradeoff: Check exact-event prepayment, construction and tennis conflicts; do not promise a lot/space.

Verify: check the linked operator for this event/date and your chosen origin.

Return: confirm this mode’s return and any connection separately; no last departure is promised.

Rideshare

Fits: Door-to-door needs that outweigh curb/queue uncertainty.

Tradeoff: General and mobility-specific drop-off instructions differ; confirm with operator.

Verify: check the linked operator for this event/date and your chosen origin.

Return: confirm this mode’s return and any connection separately; no last departure is promised.

Other services

Fits: Only when actual service for the chosen date is independently confirmed.

Tradeoff: No assumed ferry, shuttle or legacy bus service.

Verify: check the linked operator for this event/date and your chosen origin.

Return: confirm this mode’s return and any connection separately; no last departure is promised.

Conditions that change the plan

LIRR and subway Mets-Willets Point are different arrival nodes.

No assumed accessible LIRR, guaranteed express, walking minutes, parking inventory or ferry season.

Willets Point redevelopment and event curb controls can change implementation.

Place, event and approach

Choose against the actual Citi Field event and its conflict date. The 7 subway and Port Washington LIRR are different station and access propositions; neither should be folded into a generic Willets Point pin.

Make the return part of the first decision. Check construction and tennis conflicts, the correct rail connection and direction-specific access. Do not assume an express train, a Jamaica shortcut, ferry service or a particular parking space.

The 2026 schedule uses Yankee Stadium and Citi Field; initially unassigned late-season matches require the actual event listing.

Keep room for the reason you came

Keep the decision and the return plan together. Verify the actual event before you commit to a mode or base.

Check the actual event and both journeys

Before you travel, check the rules for your date, event, tenant or session. Confirm entry, outward travel, the return and your own access needs; isolated accessible facilities do not establish a complete step-free journey.

Check MTA stadium travel

Citi Field is in Flushing, Queens. Mets-Willets Point LIRR is on the Port Washington Branch, not a Jamaica branch; transfer from other branches at Woodside. LIRR station is not accessible. Subway accessible exit is Flushing-bound and game-day-only; Manhattan-bound accessible travel requires the operator's turnaround procedure at Flushing-Main St. Check service and access in both directions. Q90 serves Seaver Way. Connecting trains at Woodside may not wait after games.

Check both outward and return journeys for your travel date, event, tenant or session. Routes, departures and entry rules can change.

Check the official event and travel information

Construction restricts express 7 service; do not promise postgame express trains. Ferry prose still references 2025; verify separately.

Check both outward and return journeys for your travel date, event, tenant or session. Routes, departures and entry rules can change.

Check the official event and travel information

Construction reduces parking; conflict dates affect commuter parking. Prepayment is available, not a guarantee of a particular lot or accessible space.

Check both outward and return journeys for your travel date, event, tenant or session. Routes, departures and entry rules can change.

Check the official event and travel information

General rideshare: Shea Road/Boat Basin near Left Field. Mobility-needs pickup: Bullpen Gate, subject to traffic enforcement; confirm directly.

Check both outward and return journeys for your travel date, event, tenant or session. Routes, departures and entry rules can change.

Check MTA accessibility and live outages

Accessible station listing is not live elevator status. Consult outage information, direction-specific platform access and transfer passages for both journeys.

Check both outward and return journeys for your travel date, event, tenant or session. Routes, departures and entry rules can change.
