Red Bulls and Gotham matchdays in Harrison

Sports Illustrated Stadium: seats, food and the trip to Harrison

Sports Illustrated Stadium is in Harrison, New Jersey, so a New York soccer trip needs one more decision than picking a match: how you will cross the Hudson and get home afterward. Start with a reserved seat that suits your group, use Harrison PATH for a rail-first trip, and decide whether dinner belongs before security or on the concourse.

Plan your PATH trip

Make three decisions before you buy

  • Watch the whole match or join the supporters? A reserved sideline seat is our starting point for a first visit. The home supporters’ areas have different standing and ticket rules for Red Bulls and Gotham games.
  • Eat outside or inside? A restaurant meal needs time before you enter. Stadium concessions are the easier choice when you want to head straight to your seat.
  • Where does the night end? Check the return train to your actual hotel, not just the ride to Harrison. New York Penn Station and Newark Penn Station are different stations.

The venue address is 600 Cape May Street, Harrison, NJ 07029. Use your match’s own information: Red Bulls stadium guide or Gotham matchday guide.

Choose a seat for the match you want

For a first visit: a reserved sideline seat

Our preference is a sideline seat with enough elevation to follow the shape of play. A very low row brings the action closer but makes the far side harder to read. Compare the actual section and row on the event’s seating map rather than assuming the most expensive ticket has your preferred view.

For a Red Bulls match, the west midfield area is worth comparing if player entrances and benches matter to you. Teams enter between sections 109 and 110, and the Red Bulls bench is in front of 109. Check whether the particular ticket includes any club access before paying for it. Stadium seating and policies

For Red Bulls supporters: the South Ward

The South Ward is built around standing and supporting for the full match. The Empire Supporters Club is in 101 and Viking Army is in 102. Choose it for participation, rather than a quiet seated view; visiting supporters and anyone who needs to sit should confirm the appropriate reserved section before buying. South Ward guide

For Gotham: check the standing-only sections

Gotham’s section 101 is Cloud 9 general-admission safe standing, without seats. It includes drums, flags and smoke, and is restricted to Gotham supporters and Gotham gear. Sections 102 and 133 are also standing-only. If your group needs a seat or is supporting the visiting team, choose a suitable reserved seated section elsewhere. Gotham ticket and seating details

For wheelchair and companion seating, use the event’s accessible inventory rather than buying a standard seat and hoping to exchange it. The stadium provides accessible locations on all levels; confirm your entrance and assistance needs with Guest Services. Accessibility information

Take PATH to Harrison

These are the normal route patterns. Check PATH schedules and service changes for your date and return time.

  • From Lower Manhattan: take a Newark-bound PATH train from World Trade Center to Harrison.
  • From Midtown: take PATH from 33rd Street toward Journal Square, then change at Journal Square to a Newark-bound train for Harrison. Weekend and late-night patterns can differ.
  • From Newark Penn Station: take a World Trade Center-bound PATH train one stop to Harrison. Newark Penn is not Newark Broad Street.

Harrison station is the final rail stop for the stadium walk. Gotham estimates about seven minutes on foot, before allowing for crowds, crossings and security. Build in more time if you need a step-free route or assistance. Gotham’s arrival guidance

Pay for PATH, then plan the return

As checked November 5, 2026, a standard PATH ride is $3.25, or $6.50 for two rides, before any connecting transit fare. Use TAPP or a supported contactless bank card or mobile wallet. MetroCard and SmartLink are no longer accepted; OMNY cards are not accepted either. Station machines also sell single-ride tickets. Current PATH fares and payment options

After the match, use the World Trade Center-bound direction for Jersey City and Lower Manhattan, changing at Journal Square if your scheduled route requires it for Midtown. Use the Newark-bound direction for Newark Penn and onward rail connections. Check the late-evening schedule separately; a route that works before kickoff may operate differently after the final whistle.

If you drive

Choose your parking location before setting out, then keep the lot address handy. The club lists Harrison Parking Center at 890 South 3rd Street. Do not assume there is a shuttle: the Red Bulls directions page says there is no shuttle service. Rideshare pickup arrangements can differ from drop-off, so follow the event’s instructions and staff directions. Parking and rideshare information

What to eat

On the concourse

Pick a food stop near your section before the lines build. The Red Bulls’ current concessions guide lists:

  • Pizza: Pizzadoni at 103 and 115, with Sicilian cheese and pepperoni slices.
  • A sandwich: Bodega at 112, including its chopped-chicken option.
  • A burger: Urban Smash at 121, 125 and 131.
  • Loaded nachos: Nachos Amigos at 105, 118 and 125, including a vegetarian option.

These are menu locations, not a promise that every stand will operate at every event. Check the current concessions guide and your club’s match information.

For a Gotham match, its guide also points to veggie empanadas at Bodega, section 112, and a spring salad at Petite Greens, section 125. Ask staff about ingredients and preparation if you have an allergy. Gotham food information

Before you enter

Ah’Pizz Harrison, 615 Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard South, is a concrete option for a sit-down meal: wood-fired pizza and pasta rather than a stadium snack. Reservations are available. Leave room in the plan for the meal, the walk and security, and confirm kitchen hours before counting on dinner after a late match.

At Red Bulls home games, the BULLevard offers another reason to arrive early, with food trucks and soccer activities. Its published window starts three hours before kickoff and ends 30 minutes before kickoff. Check that match’s announcement; this is Red Bulls programming, not a standing promise for Gotham or concerts.

A simple matchday plan

Before leaving your hotel: load your ticket, check PATH alerts and the return service, and leave bulky bags behind. Gotham recommends adding tickets to your phone’s wallet in advance so weak mobile reception does not hold you up. Gotham ticket guidance

Before entering: finish any restaurant meal and use the correct gate for your ticket. Red Bulls general gates normally open one hour before kickoff, but other events may differ. There is no re-entry, and outside food and drinks are generally prohibited. Stadium entry policies

Once inside: find your section first, then make your food stop. If the atmosphere matters to you, leave time to see the supporters gather rather than arriving at your row as play starts.

After the final whistle: give the station and any onward connection some margin. If the last useful connection is tight, make that decision before the game rather than discovering it in the exit crowd.

Bags, accessibility and the details to check

The published stadium bag limit is 14 × 14 × 6 inches, with no backpacks. Medical and baby-bag exceptions go through additional screening at Gate B1. This is not a good stop between airport and hotel with luggage in tow. Confirm the current policy for your event before traveling. Bag and entry rules

For accessible seating, elevators, drop-off or sensory accommodations, start with the stadium accessibility guide and arrange what you need before the visit. Check PATH elevator status separately; accessible seating does not by itself confirm a step-free trip from your hotel.

Keep planning your New York / New Jersey trip

Choose a hotel base around both the match and the rest of your visit. For another game, compare the New York / New Jersey venue and transit guide, or build a game weekend without making every day a cross-region journey.
