DENVER / COORS FIELD / ARRIVAL

Coors Field parking vs transit

Give the ballgame the afternoon. Give the arrival a plan.

Staying in LoDo or near Union Station? Start with walking or RTD. Need the car for the wider trip? Compare official parking before committing. The right call depends on your base, your group and the journey home.

01 / THE COORS ARRIVAL CALL

Choose the whole journey.

GDT’s take: pick the mode that makes both ends of the game manageable. A shorter drive or a lower parking price alone is not the decision.

01 / START WITH YOUR BASE

Walk / RTD

Fits a downtown stay and a trip that can leave the car behind.

Tradeoff: the final walk and the return service still need to work for your group.

Next move: check the entire hotel-to-ballpark journey, then the journey back.

02 / START WITH THE CAR

Park

Fits a trip where having the car solves a real need.

Tradeoff: buying parking does not settle your final walk, traffic or exit plan.

Next move: compare the official lot, exact-game instructions and the last leg on foot.

02 / WALK & RTD

Leave room for LoDo.

Coors Field sits at 20th and Blake. A nearby base can make the neighborhood part of the day rather than another transfer.

Before choosing transit, check the exact origin, date and departure time, then the final walk. Check the return separately: extra innings are a good baseball story and a bad reason to have no backup plan.

For an airport arrival, work out where luggage goes before heading to the game. If the trip starts beyond downtown, compare the actual connection rather than assuming every rail line serves the same place.

03 / PARKING ORIENTATION

Two lots. One last-leg check.

The relationships below are an accessible text companion to the Rockies’ parking information, not a driving route or a redrawn map.

Lot A → Gate A

The Rockies place Lot A beside the ballpark’s right-field Gate A, between Blake Street and the railroad tracks toward 27th Street. Decision: compare where you will actually park, not just the lot’s nearest edge.

Lot B → beyond Lot A

Lot B continues beside Lot A from 27th Street toward 30th, with the garage reached at 27th and Blake. Decision: allow for the last leg; “official parking” is not a single distance.

The current Rockies page links a PDF stored under a 2021 path. Use that source-owned map for orientation; confirm today’s entrances, closures and instructions on the current parking page. We do not reproduce the map or treat its age as proof of current operations.

04 / WHAT CAN CHANGE THE CALL

Your group gets the deciding vote.

Accessibility: the Rockies identify accessible spaces in Lot A near Gate A, allocated first-come rather than reserved by online purchase. Confirm eligibility, the approach and assistance needs with the operator before relying on a general parking choice.

Weather, fatigue or a late finish: if the final walk is the weak point, solve that before booking. Driving does not remove the walk automatically; transit does not guarantee a convenient return.

More than one game: make the base decision once, then test each venue separately. Use the Denver lodging guide and multi-game weekend planner to keep the wider trip coherent.

05 / VERIFY, THEN GO

Have the return in your pocket.

Before you commit
Match the game date and start time. Check parking inventory, total price and the operator’s access instructions, or RTD’s planned journey and alerts.

Before you leave
Recheck traffic or service changes. Save your lot or return connection and agree on a backup with your group.
