BOSTON · FENWAY · AWAY-GAME BRIEFING
Fenway Park Visiting Fan Guide
Start with your way in, then give the neighborhood and the ballpark some time. Kenmore or Lansdowne can make the arrival work without a car. After that, the assignment is better: take your seat, find the Green Monster and bring your own colors to a very Boston game.

A ballpark woven into the city
Fenway is a Boston neighborhood trip. TD Garden belongs to a separate North Station evening; Gillette is a separate Foxborough journey. Choose your hotel for the games you’re actually seeing, rather than treating all three as one sports district.
Make the arrival fit your day
Staying in Boston
Compare the T with the actual walk from your hotel. Kenmore serves Green Line B, C and D trains. Save a route for the return as well as the way in.
Coming on the Worcester Line
Check Lansdowne. The station gives this commuter-rail approach a different job from a subway transfer. Choose an actual outbound train before you commit to staying until the last out.
Driving works better for you
Choose a garage around your approach and your route home. Account for the walk to your entrance and the postgame exit, rather than buying solely by distance from the field.

Buy the view you want
A seat at Fenway is a specific view of an unusually shaped field. The left-field wall rises 37 feet. Use the seat map before buying, especially if your priority is seeing the whole field rather than sitting in a famous section.

Pack for the gate, not the whole weekend
Single-compartment bags: maximum 12 × 12 × 6 inches. Backpacks prohibited; medical-equipment and diaper-bag exceptions apply. No re-entry.
Read the current security and bag rules
Leave luggage at your base and look at every bag before leaving. A bag that worked at another venue does not establish that it works here.
Use your live mobile ticket. Screenshots are not accepted. Open the MLB Ballpark app or your My Tickets account before arriving.
Prepare your Red Sox mobile tickets
Red Sox game gates open 90 minutes before scheduled first pitch. Food and beverage sales are cashless.
You can want Boston to lose and still enjoy Fenway
The Green Monster is worth looking at even if you’d prefer your own lineup to be clearing it. Give yourself time to see the field before the score becomes the only thing you care about. You traveled for the live version.
“Sweet Caroline” is the middle-of-the-eighth-inning singalong. Knowing that ritual helps you choose your concession break; participation does not require switching teams.

Give the outside part of the day an ending
If you want a meal before the game, work backward from when you want to be inside. Build a cutoff into the plan: finish eating, walk to the correct entrance, pass screening, find the section. A pregame stop should make the day better, not cost you the first inning.
If the building itself is the reason for the trip, consider a separate official tour. Check its date, route and admission conditions before attaching it to a game-day plan.
Accessibility: connect the seat to the journey
Red Sox Accessible Services: 617-226-6197. Ask about your seat, entrance and assistance before buying.
Plan the station or vehicle drop-off, street approach, entrance and return together. A short line on a diagram does not prove a step-free path. Share the assistance you need with the venue and check MBTA elevator alerts before travel.
The last out is not your departure time
Save the return route and agree on a meeting point before splitting up. For commuter rail, compare the published departure with the time needed to leave your seat and reach the platform. For driving, keep the garage address and its pedestrian entrance. For rideshare, follow the current app pickup instructions and street restrictions.
Concerts need their own check: use that show’s ticket, bag, door and floor-entry instructions. A baseball routine is a starting point for the area, not an entry plan for every event.
