Empower Field Parking vs Transit

Make the drive-or-RTD call before game day, then verify the exact event before you leave.

Orient first: access is not parking permission

Empower Field and Decatur–Federal are rail-access stations for the stadium corridor. That does not mean the Decatur–Federal lot is available as event-day RTD parking. Current RTD guidance says the Decatur–Federal Park-n-Ride parking is unavailable to RTD customers during major stadium events. Treat rail access and parking permission as two separate checks.

MILE HIGH ARRIVAL CALL

DRIVE / PARK or RTD?

DRIVE / PARK

Choose driving when your exact event parking plan is confirmed and the car helps the rest of your trip. Expect event-specific inventory, pricing, traffic controls and exit patterns. Do not treat a map label as a space guarantee.

RTD

Choose RTD when avoiding stadium traffic and parking is the priority. Confirm service for your event date and plan the full return trip, not just the inbound ride. Station access does not establish permission to park at Decatur–Federal.

If you drive: understand the parking geography

Empower Field’s official off-site parking map is the factual geography source for this decision. The current operator map identifies the stadium/on-site parking area and named off-site areas including Ball Arena, Auraria Campus, Denver Aquarium and Riverside Church. It is a geography reference—not live inventory, a current entrance/exit route, a rail diagram or an accessibility route.

The map remains on the operator’s site and is not reproduced here. Use the official parking page below for the current map and event instructions, then verify availability, price, traffic controls and lot rules for your exact event.

If you ride: verify RTD for the event

Empower Field and Decatur–Federal provide rail access to the stadium corridor. Check RTD close to departure for the service pattern that applies to your event. If your plan depends on driving to a station, verify parking separately; do not assume Decatur–Federal is an event-day Park-n-Ride option.

Event-day exceptions can change the call

  • Parking: inventory, pricing and lot access can change by event.
  • Traffic: road controls and exit flow can change the useful driving plan.
  • RTD: service, frequency and capacity are date-sensitive.
  • Decatur–Federal: rail access and event-day parking permission are separate questions.

Verify before you commit

Recheck the Empower Field parking page and map revision, exact-event parking instructions, traffic conditions and RTD service shortly before the event. This page helps make the mode decision; the operators control the live conditions.
