SEATTLE · LUMEN FIELD · ARRIVAL & EXIT

Your jersey belongs in the stands. Your car needs a plan.

For a Lumen trip, start with transit if the trip home works for your event. Drive when the car solves a real need, then choose the parking facility and the way out together. The right arrival should leave room to enjoy the game, not turn kickoff into a parking deadline.

Make the Lumen arrival call

GDT’s call: choose the option that works for your whole trip. Access needs and the return journey can change the answer.

TRANSIT / WALK

Your base connects to rail or bus, and the return service fits.

Start with the whole round trip. A convenient ride in is only half the decision.

DRIVE / PARK

Your onward trip, group or access needs make a car useful.

Choose an actual event parking option before setting navigation. Keep your passenger plan separate from your parking plan.

Know the handoff before you leave

This movement board shows how the arrival pieces fit. Read each line as a trip sequence, not as a street route or a promise of step-free access.

01 / LINK LIGHT RAIL

Your starting station → Stadium or International District/Chinatown → surface walk → Lumen Field

Sound Transit identifies both Link stations for Lumen. Pick the one that suits your starting point and your usable route to the event entrance.

02 / SOUNDER, WHEN SCHEDULED

Confirmed game train → King Street Station → surface transfer → Lumen Field

Sounder is a separate service decision. Check that a game train runs for your date and that its return departure works for you.

03 / ON-SITE PARKING

North Lot: north of Lumen · Lumen Field · Event Center Garage: south of Lumen

These are different arrival sides. Save the facility named on your pass, then check its pedestrian exit and your stadium entrance.

Read the station geography

Stadium Station sits south of South Royal Brougham Way, between the SODO Busway and Sixth Avenue South. The operator map points west from the station’s northern end toward the stadiums. It depicts the local connection, not the full route to a particular gate.

The operator map places Union Station west of International District/Chinatown Station and Fifth Avenue South east, and marks separate north and south access areas around South Jackson and South King streets. Verify the usable exit and elevator status before traveling.

These station-area maps carry April2022 source dates and remain linked from the operator’s current station pages. Use them for the relationships described here; live alerts and event controls decide the usable trip.

Reading the board: named places are verified nodes; arrows show sequence only. No route geometry, journey time or available service is implied. Use the operator’s current map, signs and access guidance for the actual path.

THE REASON TO PLAN

A parking pass is not a tailgate plan

Lumen does not permit tailgating in its own on-site lots. If the pregame gathering matters to your trip, check the team’s event guidance before deciding the car is part of the experience. Wear your colors; make room for the part of game day you actually came to enjoy.

Choose the constraint that changes your answer

Staying near your event

Compare the actual walking route from your base with a transit trip. Account for weather, crossings and everyone’s walking tolerance. A map’s shortest line should not make that decision for you.

Coming from farther out

Compare a station-based trip with driving all the way in. Check current parking and service at the station you intend to use. Do not assume every park-and-ride has space.

Using a rideshare

Lumen lists drop-off points at King Street/Occidental and Royal Brougham/Occidental. Recheck event controls and the app’s permitted meeting point before leaving; an inbound drop-off does not guarantee the same pickup later.

Set the access plan before the mode

The venue identifies an accessible drop-off near First Avenue South and South Charles Street. Its Event Center Garage has an accessible entrance at Level 2. Ask the venue to confirm the suitable arrival and return arrangements for your event. Check station elevator alerts separately; this board does not certify a step-free route.

THE RETURN TICKET

Plan the exit while the choices are still easy

BY RAIL OR BUS

Name the return stop and check the last usable departure. If using Sounder, confirm the event train’s specific departure rule. Save a backup before entering the stadium.

BY CAR

Save the garage or lot name and the route back to its pedestrian entrance. Follow staff and posted controls when leaving. Choosing a side of the stadium does not promise a faster drive home.

BY RIDESHARE OR ON FOOT

Agree where the group will meet before anyone requests a car. If walking to your base, keep the return route and any access requirements in the plan rather than improvising after the final whistle.

One last check, then enjoy the game

Before leaving: confirm your exact event, permitted arrival point, access arrangements and return service. Save any ticket or parking details you need, the venue entrance and a useful backup. Recheck operator notices close to departure.
