Chicago • Wrigley Field • Where to stay

Where to stay
for a Wrigley game.

Make the ballpark your neighborhood. Or make the Cubs one great chapter of a bigger Chicago weekend.

Start with the weekend. Then the room.

Ballpark first—or the whole city?

Stay near Wrigley if the game and Wrigleyville are the main event. Stay downtown if baseball shares the bill with architecture, museums and the rest of Chicago.

Choose the neighborhood

Wrigleyville / Lakeview

Your kind of trip: pregame in the neighborhood, the roar of the crowd, and more Wrigleyville after the final out.

The tradeoff: your downtown plans become a separate journey. Lakeview is an area, not a guarantee that every hotel is beside the gates.

Choose the wider weekend

Downtown / the Loop

Your kind of trip: a Cubs game plus a city day, downtown dining and Chicago’s history beyond the ballpark.

The tradeoff: include the station walk, train ride and postgame return. A downtown hotel and a ballpark-side hotel offer different weekends.

Three places to start.

Pick the stay that fits your game.

These are concrete starting points for comparing the three experiences—not a price ranking. Open the hotel’s own site for your dates and exact room details.

Three stays. Three Chicago settings.

01 • Ballpark at the center

Hotel Zachary

3630 N. Clark Street · Wrigleyville

Across the street from Wrigley Field, this is the direct fit when being in the ballpark neighborhood is the point of the trip.

Consider: Choose the specific room you want; don’t assume every room has a ballpark view. Ask about event-night noise and parking terms.

02 • Lakeview neighborhood life

Best Western Plus Hawthorne Terrace

3434 N. Broadway · Lakeview East

A Lakeview East option when you want neighborhood time beyond the ballpark corner. The hotel lists breakfast and paid adjacent parking.

Consider: Trace your actual route to Wrigley and check the parking charge for your stay. This is a different location from Clark and Addison.

03 • Downtown with a sports story

Chicago Athletic Association

12 S. Michigan Avenue · the Loop

A downtown option in an 1893 athletic-club building overlooking Millennium Park. A good comparison when Chicago’s architecture and city days matter alongside the game.

Consider: Plan the hotel-to-Red-Line leg and the return from Addison. Include the property’s fees and parking terms in your comparison.

Property locations and the listed features were checked against official hotel sources October 27, 2026. Room rates, availability, fees and cancellation terms depend on your dates and selection.

The useful connection

Downtown to Addison.

Wrigley Field is at 1060 W. Addison Street. CTA identifies the Addison Red Line stop for the ballpark. From downtown, the northbound Red Line direction is Howard; the southbound return direction is 95th/Dan Ryan.

Check current service and elevator alerts for the stations you will actually use. A station name is a starting point, not a promise about your event-day journey.

Before you book

Test both ends of the night.

  1. Put the exact hotel on the map.Compare its entrance with your station or walking route, not just its neighborhood name.
  2. Work back from the game.Leave room for the approach, entry and the pregame experience you want.
  3. Choose your return.Know the direction, station and last part of the trip back to your hotel before you leave for Wrigley.

Book the whole stay, not just a room rate.

Four checks worth making.

What will the stay actually cost?

Compare the total for your dates, including taxes, property fees, parking, cancellation terms and any minimum stay. A lower room rate may come with a different trip or a different set of charges.

How much neighborhood energy do you want?

If you want to stay out around Wrigley, put the neighborhood first. If a quieter room matters, ask the property about the particular room’s exposure and event-night conditions; the neighborhood label alone cannot promise quiet.

Will the room and route work for your group?

Confirm beds, occupancy, accessible room features and the hotel entrance directly with the property. Check the access and elevator conditions along your chosen transport route separately.

What happens to your bags and your car?

Ask about luggage storage around check-in and check-out. Confirm hotel parking separately from ballpark parking, including arrival time, departure time and in/out terms. Then check the Cubs’ current entry and bag guidance.

Make the stay part of the story.

One game. More Chicago.

Choose the base.
Then bring your colors.

Keep your game day and your weekend connected.
