Chicago · Visiting fan guide

United Center

Two teams. One arena. A whole West Side evening.

Bulls basketball, Blackhawks hockey or a big show: make the event yours, then connect it with the Atrium, a West Loop meal and a stay that fits the return.

The Michael Jordan statue in the United Center Atrium gives a basketball trip a specific Chicago stop. The Madhouse Team Store carries both Bulls and Blackhawks gear. Check Atrium access and opening hours for your date instead of assuming every event uses the same pregame setup.

The essentials

Start with the right building.

Address: 1901 W. Madison Street

Here for: Bulls · Blackhawks · concerts and other events

Next decision: choose your seat, your base and the journey back before booking the rest.

Check the exact event for doors, tickets, seating and entry. The Blackhawks’ 2026–27 parking guidance also flags campus changes; older exterior photographs cannot establish today’s approach or lot assignments.

One building. Different nights.

Which event brings you here?

Basketball night.

Compare a sideline view with a baseline view, then check the actual row. Leave time for the Jordan statue in the Atrium if it is open. The historic basketball photograph on this page shows a Bulls game, not today’s court or presentation.

Hockey night.

Choose your rink perspective and check the seat’s glass/netting context. Load the mobile ticket before you arrive. Use current Blackhawks information; the hockey photograph is a historical atmosphere reference, not a current seat view.

Your show. Its own setup.

Use the actual stage chart and doors for your event. Confirm the return separately: a restaurant shuttle or express service for a team game does not establish coverage for a concert.

For the fans who go.

Let the event set the evening.

The Atrium and a West Loop dinner can give an arena night its own Chicago character. Choose what fits before doors, and leave the post-event plan flexible.

West Loop neighborhood context, not Kaiser Tiger or a specific route.

Choose the experience, not just a section number.

Seats with a plan.

The notes below help you compare perspectives. Use the official chart and the exact ticket’s section, row, access and view notes before buying.

Basketball

Compare sideline and baseline perspectives, then the actual row. A seat close to one basket offers a different experience from a broad view of the court.

Check: Check the precise event chart and any limited-view note before buying.

Hockey

Compare the side or end of the rink and whether closeness to the glass or an elevated view matters more to you.

Check: Read the section and row details; protective glass/netting and sightlines should be checked for the actual seat.

Concerts

Start with the stage location. A seat that makes sense for a Bulls game may face a very different setup for a show.

Check: Verify stage-side restrictions, floor layout and any obstructed-view description on that ticket.

The hours around the game

Dinner first. Then the Madhouse.

Kaiser Tiger

1415 W. Randolph Street

A specific West Loop option for sausage, bacon and beer before the arena. If you want to use its event shuttle, read the current schedule: Bulls/Blackhawks return service and concert return arrangements are not the same.

Dinner at the arena

Queenie’s Supper Club is an arena dining alternative. The venue says a reservation requires a ticket to that day’s event. Compare the current menu and reservation availability before building dinner around it.

Choose the base that fits the return

Two stays to compare.

These are specific location-based starting points, not a price ranking. Compare the full stay, airport connection and post-event trip for your dates.

West Loop / Fulton Market

Hyatt House Chicago / West Loop–Fulton Market

105 N. May Street

Compare this base if Randolph Street dining belongs in the evening. It is a neighborhood stay, not an arena-door hotel; plan the actual trip to Madison and the way back.

Downtown city weekend

Chicago Athletic Association

12 S. Michigan Avenue

A Loop alternative when architecture and city time share the bill. Include the westbound arena leg and post-event return rather than choosing from the hotel name alone.

Locations checked against official hotel sources October 27, 2026. Verify room type, total charges, parking, accessibility and cancellation terms directly with the property.

Arrive with the whole route in mind.

Compare Damen on the Green Line with Illinois Medical District on the Blue Line. Both require a final walk; use the station exit and route that work for your group. CTA’s Green/Pink bridge-work changes can alter the west-side trip, so check current alerts rather than relying on a normal-line diagram.

The game ends. The trip doesn’t.

Know the way back.

CTA’s #19 United Center Express covers Bulls and Blackhawks games and selected other events; verify your event before relying on it. For rideshare, the venue’s Uber Zone is at Madison and Wood in Lot E. Agree on the meeting plan before ordering a car.

For Green/Pink journeys, check the current bridge-work notice and service/elevator alerts. Include your final walk and exact venue entrance; a station diagram is not an accessible-route guarantee.

Keep the gate simple.

Pack for this event.

United Center’s current FAQ allows a small purse or personal bag up to 10 × 6 × 2 inches, with medical exceptions described separately; backpacks are prohibited. Read the complete event policy and load your ticket before you reach the entrance.

Relative sequence. Your actual date.

Make the event day yours.

  1. Before doorsChoose your event mode above, check Atrium access and give dinner its own time. Kaiser Tiger or Queenie’s are different plans, not interchangeable promises.
  2. Inside the arenaFind the section for your sport or stage layout. Get food before the action you most want to see, and keep the exit plan handy.
  3. After the eventUse a return service confirmed for your event. A concert finish does not automatically have the same express bus or restaurant shuttle options as a Bulls or Blackhawks game.
