GameDayTraveler / Chicago / Soldier Field / Parking or transit
Soldier Field: plan the final approach.
Treat the lakefront approach as a real leg of the journey. Start with your event, base and walking or access needs, then compare rail plus a final connection with event parking and any confirmed shuttle.
Getting off the train is not getting through the gate.
Choose a complete chain to the stadium and a separate chain back. Event-specific instructions matter more than a generic stadium pin.
Which complete journey works for your group?
Rail, walk or event bus
Useful when: Your base fits transit and the final connection works for everyone.
Compare the last approach before choosing the line. A nominally shorter train ride is not automatically easier when it leaves an unsuitable walk.
Parking or a confirmed shuttle
Useful when: Your group, gear, access needs or next stop earns driving.
Choose the exact event and parking product. Bears-specific arrangements cannot be assumed for a concert or another tenant’s match.
Protect the part of the day you came for.
A lakefront stadium visit deserves more than a sprint from the last connection. Decide how much walking your group wants, where the pregame gathering fits and what can stay at the hotel. Save the game-day energy for the event, not an improvised pickup search afterward.
Cross into the campus with a known approach.
Non-scale route relationships. This diagram identifies official nodes and sequence; it does not certify a crossing, open gate, accessibility or exact walking time on your event day.

Buy the parking arrangement for your event.
For Bears dates, the venue lists North Garage, Waldron Deck and South Lot as season-coupon parking. It also describes McCormick Place Lot B with a Bears-only shuttle to the 18th Street area. Confirm the current event instructions before paying or routing there.
For other events, check the event’s actual lots, entry rules and opening window. Match the destination to your booked entrance and follow the operator’s traffic directions. A normal-day parking option or a Bears shuttle listing does not establish service for your event.
Major-event rideshare uses different endpoints: drop-off at the 18th Drive turnaround, pickup at Columbus/Balbo. Confirm the current event’s instructions and where your group will meet before requesting the car.
Do not reverse the arrival plan by assumption.
A drop-off point may not be the pickup point, and the special service that gets you there may have a limited return window. Save the post-event route and the last onward train you can reasonably reach. If anyone needs a shorter or step-free final leg, make that a condition of the return plan as well as arrival.
Before leaving, verify the full chain.
Ask the venue to confirm the suitable entrance, parking or drop-off arrangement and the post-event pickup procedure. Then check each transit station and elevator in the chain. An accessible vehicle or one accessible station cannot establish the whole journey.
