NEW ORLEANS / CAESARS SUPERDOME / ARRIVAL
Go to the game with an arrival plan.
Staying downtown? First compare walking or RTA with your whole day. Driving can make sense for an outer-area base or a specific access need, but Saints parking needs its own check before you set off.
ARRIVAL BOARD / GDT RECOMMENDATION
Start with where you’re staying.
DOWNTOWN BASE
Walk, if it suits your party.
Avoid a second parking decision. Check the actual outdoor route, weather, mobility needs and return before committing.
CONNECTED ORIGIN
RTA, with a return plan.
Compare the live trip planner for both directions. Transit fits only if the remaining walk and post-event service work.
CAR-DEPENDENT TRIP
Drive with event parking settled.
Confirm your facility, access rules and payment before leaving. The closest map label is not a parking reservation.
FLEXIBLE DOOR-TO-ZONE
Rideshare, with pickup agreed.
Avoid storing a car, but allow for the trip between venue and designated pickup zone. Prices and waits remain variable.
These are planning recommendations, not promises about travel time, parking inventory, safety or service.
KNOW THE LAST PART OF THE TRIP
The Dome has several approaches. Your event decides access.
Venue address
1500 Sugar Bowl Drive. The Dome is north of the arena, with Dave Dixon Drive between the two.
Pregame anchor
Champions Square is east of the Dome at LaSalle Street and the Gate C Grand Staircase. Event screening controls access.
Rideshare anchor
The operator currently identifies Poydras Street between Clara Street and Loyola Avenue. Check your event for changes.

Saints parking is a separate decision.
The Saints’ current guide says the five main garages are sold in advance to season-ticket holders. It lists limited first-come spaces in Lot 3. Do not plan a Saints visit around buying into any garage you happen to reach.
For other Superdome events, use the event’s parking offer. The venue says facilities, opening times and prices vary. Its garages take credit or debit cards.
Before buying or driving: match the event and date, check the named facility and entry instructions, confirm vehicle restrictions and keep the parking pass available on your phone. Plan where you’re going after the game as well.
Plan the ride home before you plan the ride there.
- Enter your actual starting point, Caesars Superdome, travel date and arrival time in RTA’s trip planner. Review the last outdoor leg as part of the journey.
- Run the reverse journey for a realistic post-event departure. Check the final useful service, transfers and whether the remaining walk works for everyone in your party.
- Recheck RTA alerts before leaving. A route shown on a static map is not confirmation that it is operating normally for your event.
For a downtown hotel, walking may be the simplest comparison to make first. Check your own route and mobility needs; there is no universal hotel-to-stadium walking time.
No specific route number, departure, fare or last service is promised here.
Agree on pickup before the crowd leaves.
Both venue operators currently identify the rideshare zone on Poydras between Clara and Loyola. Event instructions can change that location. Check the venue’s guidance and the app’s pickup point before requesting the car; avoid making a curbside promise based on the map alone.
GDT recommendation: save the current pickup instructions, keep the group together and allow flexibility for demand, traffic and road controls. No fixed postgame fare or wait is reliable enough to promise.
Need an accessible arrival? Start here.
Saints-specific caution: the current Saints guide says ADA East and West parking require pre-purchased passes. The general venue page describes some accessible spaces as first-come. Confirm the exact game with the parking office before traveling; a placard alone does not settle the parking plan.
The Superdome accessibility page identifies Gate A Ground on Sugar Bowl Drive for accessible drop-off and pickup, with possible post-event changes. The Saints guide describes Poydras under the ramp. Ask the operator which location and approach apply to your event, including the return.
Parking office: 504-587-3805. Ask about the event, vehicle requirements, a usable arrival route and post-event pickup. Do not treat the Grand Staircase or a short-looking line on a map as a step-free route.
Make time for the buildup.
The Saints’ current playbook places Champions Square inside the ticketed, screened game-day experience. If you want that pregame stop, settle bags, tickets and the arrival choice before heading in. Re-entry restrictions make “we’ll go back to the car” a poor default plan.
You came to see your team in their city. Let the game-day buildup earn a place in the trip.
Your last check before leaving.
- Correct venue, event and ticket entrance.
- Parking pass or current transit plan, plus the return.
- Pickup or accessible-arrival instructions, saved where you can find them.
- Current event notice and RTA alerts, if you’re using transit.
