Parking vs. SEPTA is really a tailgate decision.
For an Eagles game, driving is not simply the expensive option and transit is not automatically the smart option. Decide what game day you are trying to have first.
Take SEPTA when you want the cleanest Center City-to-stadium chain and do not need a vehicle-based tailgate. Drive when the vehicle and lot are part of the experience, your group needs gear, or your origin/departure makes transit awkward. If you drive, choose the lot with both tailgate rules and postgame routing in mind.

Let the experience choose the mode.
Start with driving and verify a tailgate-permitted lot.
NRG/B Line is the clean default when the car adds no value.
Choose parking around the outbound route, not just the nearest entrance.
Two legitimate game days.
SEPTA / NRG
Wins when: you are staying in Center City, traveling light, skipping a vehicle tailgate, or value avoiding the parking/exit system.
The B Line runs to NRG Station, the common Sports Complex transit gateway. Special-event service can vary; check SEPTA for your date.
Drive / park
Wins when: the tailgate is part of the product, you carry food/chairs/coolers, your group needs a shorter controlled chain, or your trip continues by car after the game.
Lincoln Financial Field publishes public parking areas and postgame traffic routing. Lot rules matter: tailgating is not permitted in every parking area.

Do not buy parking before checking what the lot allows.
The stadium’s current A–Z guidance says parking areas generally open 4.5 hours before kickoff and identifies areas where tailgating is not permitted. Those are event-controlled facts, not permanent promises. For the target game, verify opening time, permitted lot, vehicle type, payment/reservation rules and any security inspection requirements with the stadium/operator.
Start with permitted-lot inventory, then judge the exit.
Use NRG and build the social stop separately.
Optimize the shortest verified chain; do not monetize the accessibility decision.

Arrival gets you excited. Departure decides whether the plan was good.
Philadelphia Police and venue traffic operations can direct cars onto prescribed postgame routes. If your car needs to head toward a specific interstate or an immediate road-trip leg, study the current parking map and outbound pattern before choosing the closest space. Transit riders should check the event-date B Line service and any special-event operations rather than assuming the normal schedule tells the whole story.
Verify the volatile layer.
Before leaving: confirm the Eagles/Lincoln Financial Field parking and tailgating guidance, SEPTA service alerts/special-event service, road restrictions, accessibility needs and any simultaneous Sports Complex event.
