Downtown Detroit Sports District Game-Day Guide

Three venues. One district to get your bearings.

Ford Field and Comerica Park sit together on the east side of Woodward. Little Caesars Arena is farther north, across I-75. Learn that shape before choosing a station, a pregame stop or the route back to your base.

Bring your colors. Make room for the city around the game.

Read the district from north to south

Woodward is the spine. The arena is on its west side; the ballpark and football stadium are on its east side. Grand Circus Park sits south of the venue cluster and gives the district a useful connection to the rest of Downtown.

North ↑ • Woodward corridor

Little Caesars Arena

West of Woodward • north of I-75

Pistons, Red Wings and arena events. QLINE lists Adelaide/Sproat for this part of the district. Check the platform name and direction for your trip.

I-75 / Fisher Service Drives

The crossing between the arena side and the stadium side. Woodward continues across it; use the signed pedestrian crossings and the event-day route.

South of I-75 • east of Woodward

Comerica Park

Tigers • ballpark side

QLINE: Montcalm. The ballpark sits between Woodward and Brush Street.

Ford Field

Lions • across Brush Street

East of Comerica Park. QLINE lists Grand Circus for Ford Field; People Mover lists nearby Broadway.

Grand Circus Park

South of the venue cluster

A QLINE stop and a separate People Mover station share this Downtown connection area. People Mover also lists Broadway for Comerica Park and Ford Field. Every option still has a street-level walk to your venue.

South ↓ • toward the rest of Downtown

How to read this: a simplified relationship diagram. Order, sides of Woodward, the freeway crossing and the stadium pairing are factual; spacing is not to scale. It is not a turn-by-turn, gate-entry or step-free route.

The short distance still has a shape

Ballpark ↔ football stadium

Comerica Park and Ford Field are neighbors across Brush Street. A walk between their surroundings is a different proposition from changing cities or hotel bases. Your actual start and finish still depend on the gate you need and any event restrictions.

Arena ↔ stadium pair

Little Caesars Arena is across I-75 from the ballpark and football stadium. Keep the Woodward crossing in your plan instead of treating the three venues as one continuous plaza. Check the official map, follow signed crossings and allow for the final walk to your entrance.

Walking call: If your base and plans are already Downtown and the route fits your mobility needs, compare walking before adding another vehicle trip. Weather, street closures and the route to the actual gate can change that call. This guide does not certify a step-free route.

Choose the transit job, then the stop

QLINE: move along Woodward

Useful when your starting point is on the Woodward corridor. Match the venue to its station area, then check travel direction and current service. The station diagram is orientation, not a promise of an immediate train.

Check QLINE service and how to ride →

People Mover: connect from Downtown

Useful when the downtown loop connects your starting area to the venue side. Broadway serves the Ford Field/Comerica area; Grand Circus Park connects with QLINE and is listed for Little Caesars Arena. These are stations near the district, not arena or stadium gates.

Check People Mover service alerts →

Before the return trip: confirm operating hours, service alerts and the station entrance you can use. Don’t assume a late finish comes with extended service. If elevators or other access features matter, check the operator’s current access notices as well.

The whole trip

The jersey gets you to Detroit. Leave some time for the blocks around it.

The Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings share this district, but the day needn’t be a race from a parking space to a turnstile. Columbia Street, between the Fox Theatre and The Fillmore, gives you a pedestrian street to work into the plan. Choose a stop that fits your route and your group, then keep the final approach to your own venue clear.

Choose a food stop that fits your venue

The meal should help the route, not add a second trip across the district. These four stops give you different ways to use the blocks around the venues. For a 1 p.m. Lions game, compare early entry with a meal after the game rather than squeezing in a full lunch.

Columbia Street · Theatre-side meal

Frita Batidos

66 W. Columbia Street. Choose frita burgers, tropical batidos or the black-bean option on this theatre-side pedestrian block. The pedestrian block works naturally into a Woodward-side outing. Sunday opening is currently 11 a.m., so plan it after an early Lions game or before a later event.

Broadway · Detroit-style pizza

Buddy’s Pizza Downtown

1565 Broadway Street. This is the Downtown Buddy’s location, useful for a shared pizza meal when your base or return route runs south of the stadiums. It opens at 11 a.m. on Sundays at the time of this check. Make the meal a deliberate stop and leave room for the final walk to your gate.

Check Buddy’s Downtown →

E. Adams · Stadium-side stop

Elwood Bar & Grill

300 E. Adams Avenue. A historic bar-and-grill choice for the Ford Field and Comerica Park side of the district. The Art Moderne building is part of the appeal. Hours follow stadium events; check its calendar instead of assuming it opens every day or stays open after every game.

Check Elwood’s event schedule →

Broadway · A broader pub menu

Detroit Beer Company

1529 Broadway Street. Choose this Downtown brewpub when your group wants burgers, sandwiches or shareable starters rather than pizza. It offers another meal stop on the Broadway side of the trip. Check the restaurant’s current game-day hours, which can differ from its regular schedule.

Make the meeting point specific: agree on the restaurant name, street address and side of the trip before the group separates. For Little Caesars Arena, allow for the I-75 crossing between these south-side meal stops and the arena. For Ford Field, continue to the actual ticketed entrance rather than treating the ballpark as the destination.

Protect the game block: allow time to order, eat and reach your ticketed entrance. A nearby table is not a reservation or a guarantee of quick service. Use the worked Lions game-day plan or compare Detroit bases before deciding where dinner fits.

Dining details checked November 5, 2026. Restaurant hours, event menus and availability can change.

One district means checking more than your ticket

Before locking the arrival plan, check whether the other venues have an event on your date. 313 Presents says parking rates and availability vary with events in The District Detroit. A nearby second game can also make the weekend worth extending; it does not guarantee a workable same-day doubleheader.

GDT planning call: Choose a meeting point, a final approach and a way back before the event. If driving survives the mode decision, compare the lot’s approach and exit with where you need to go afterward. If taking transit, build the return around that day’s service. Leave live traffic and temporary restrictions to the operators.

The final approach belongs to your venue

Keep the shared geography here; use your venue’s current guidance for entry, parking, drop-off and event-specific access. Check again near your event date.
