Chicago · Visiting fan guide
Soldier Field
A Bears roar. A lakefront weekend.
Football at the lakefront, a South Loop table and Chicago’s museum district around the corner. Give the approach—and the city—the time they deserve.

Know the place
A Chicago story worth the trip.

Soldier Field opened in 1924 and the Bears began playing here in 1971. The renovated stadium reopened for Bears football in 2003. The historic colonnades and modern bowl make this a very different Chicago setting from a neighborhood ballpark.
The essentials
Start with the right building.
Address: 1410 Special Olympics Drive · also listed by the venue as 1410 S. Museum Campus Drive
Here for: Bears · football, concerts and other events
Next decision: choose your seat, your base and the journey back before booking the rest.
Checked October 27, 2026: the Bears’ official 2026 schedule lists their Chicago home games at Soldier Field. Future-home proposals are separate from those scheduled games. Confirm the venue and any flexible date or time on your actual event listing.

For the fans who go.
Feel the roar. Make a day of it.
Connect the stadium with a separate museum or lakefront chapter. Explore Museum Campus with MuseumDistricts, then check opening hours and access for your actual dates.

Choose the experience, not just a section number.
Seats with a plan.
The notes below help you compare perspectives. Use the official chart and the exact ticket’s section, row, access and view notes before buying.

Lake Michigan, Museum Campus and a game worth building a weekend around. Save a lakefront chapter for before the crowds or another day; confirm the actual walking route and museum hours.
Football: sidelines
Compare the view along the field with being closer to an end zone. Let your preferred perspective guide the search.
Check: Check the actual row, elevation and access needs on the seating map for the event.
Football: end zones / higher rows
An end-on or higher view can change how you follow a play. Compare sightlines as well as distance from the turf.
Check: Prepare for the weather and confirm the route to the seat; a photograph is not a ticket-seat preview.
Concert or another event
Use that event’s stage and seating configuration, rather than a football seating assumption.
Check: Check restricted-view notes and floor-seat arrangements on the actual ticket listing.
The hours around the game
A South Loop table. A stadium day.

Flo & Santos
1310 S. Wabash Avenue
Tavern-style pizza and pierogi make this a concrete South Loop meal to compare before or after the game. Check its hours and fit it around the stadium approach, rather than expecting a table to match an uncertain event finish.
Eating inside
Use the venue’s current A–Z guide to locate concessions and amenities for your event. Leave time to eat before settling into the bowl, especially if your plans include the campus beforehand.
Choose the base that fits the return
Two stays to compare.
These are specific location-based starting points, not a price ranking. Compare the full stay, airport connection and post-event trip for your dates.
South Michigan Avenue
Hilton Chicago

720 S. Michigan Avenue
Compare a South Loop base when Soldier Field and the museum district are central to the weekend. Test the exact hotel-to-stadium walk or connection for your group.
McCormick Place side
Hampton Inn Chicago McCormick Place
123 E. Cermak · Suite 100
A different starting point south of the Loop. Compare the complete campus approach and your airport journey; a hotel described as near the stadium is not automatically the right final walk.
Locations checked against official hotel sources October 27, 2026. Verify room type, total charges, parking, accessibility and cancellation terms directly with the property.

Arrive with the whole route in mind.
Roosevelt on the Red, Green and Orange lines is an approach to Museum Campus, not a stadium-door station. Soldier Field also identifies CTA #146. For Metra, the venue directs visitors to 18th Street. Museum Campus/11th Street is a separate station; check which stop your train actually serves.
The game ends. The trip doesn’t.
Know the way back.
Choose your route back across the campus before the event. If you plan on the #128 Bears express, confirm coverage for that particular home game. Keep a regular transit alternative and use the current venue pickup instructions if taking a car.
For Green/Pink journeys, check the current bridge-work notice and service/elevator alerts. Include your final walk and exact venue entrance; a station diagram is not an accessible-route guarantee.
Keep the gate simple.
Pack for this event.
The venue’s published clear-bag limit is 12 × 6 × 12 inches; it also lists a small non-clear bag allowance of 4.5 × 6.5 inches. Check the complete policy and medical exceptions before packing. Confirm your event’s gate and ticket instructions separately.
Relative sequence. Your actual date.
Make the event day yours.
- Before the eventChoose a South Loop meal or a Museum Campus visit. Put the museum on a separate day if its opening hours and your event cannot comfortably coexist.
- Game or show timeKeep the campus approach and entry in the plan. Once inside, let the event—not an overfilled itinerary—be the centerpiece.
- After the eventFollow the departure route you saved. Keep the final walk to your hotel or pickup point in mind, especially with tired children or changing weather.
Bring your colors.
Keep exploring Chicago.
