Akron–Kent
Two college towns. Pick your game-day home.
Zips football in Akron. Golden Flashes football in Kent. Choose the campus that brings you here, then leave room for a historic estate or a Cuyahoga Valley outing.

START WITH THE TICKET
Different campuses. Different arrivals.
Akron Zips
InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field sits on the University of Akron campus in Akron. A downtown/campus stay puts the Akron side of this trip first.
Akron’s official arrival guide distinguishes public and credentialed lots. Follow the approach for your own parking category.
Kent State Golden Flashes
Dix Stadium is at 2213 Summit Road in Kent. Downtown Kent offers a college-town base, but the stadium is a separate arrival decision.
Check Kent State’s current game guide for its parking map, shuttle information and event access.
WHERE TO STAY
Choose a side of the weekend.
Downtown Akron / campus
Choose Akron when Zips football is the main event and Stan Hywet is your sightseeing pick. Keep your hotel and evening plans on the Akron side; add Kent as a separate trip. Attending both schools? Base yourself around the game whose arrival and return you most want to simplify.
Downtown Kent
Choose downtown Kent for a Golden Flashes trip with restaurants and shops around your home base. The tradeoff: Dix Stadium still needs its own transport plan. Stay here for the town as well as the team, then choose stadium parking or the campus game shuttle for kickoff day.
These are geographic planning choices, not hotel endorsements. Compare the actual property’s location, accessibility, cancellation terms and transport options for your dates.

GETTING AROUND
Plan both stadium trips separately.
Akron: the official guide lists single-game lots on west campus near E.J. Thomas Hall and Wolf Ledges Parkway. Pick your lot before setting the route: its Exchange Street approach does not allow a northbound turn onto Spicer Street. Recheck the guide for your game.
Kent: compare parking at Dix Stadium with the Summit Street campus lots and game shuttle. The fan guide identifies stadium parking in the east and west lots and shuttle parking west of Route 261. Check its current map and event instructions before choosing your approach.
Both cities: arrange the trip back to your hotel as well as the trip to the game. A Kent game shuttle is not an Akron–Kent transfer. For accessible parking or shuttle boarding, confirm the ticketed venue’s arrangements before choosing your arrival option.
BEYOND THE SCOREBOARD
Make room for a different kind of Ohio.
Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens
Give Akron’s historic estate its own slot in the day. Tours and holiday programming are seasonal; confirm the date, admission and access rules before setting out.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Boston Mill Visitor Center in Peninsula is a regional outing outside either downtown. Pick the park visit to fit daylight, weather and your return journey, and check current alerts before choosing a trail.
WEEKEND INSPIRATION
One confirmed game. A little more city.
Akron-led trip: pair Zips football with Stan Hywet on your non-game day. Its regular tour season runs April through late November, Tuesday through Sunday, with holiday exceptions. Winter closure and separate holiday events can change that plan.
Kent-led trip: give downtown Kent time for a meal and a browse before heading to your chosen Dix Stadium parking or shuttle stop. Let kickoff set the pace rather than trying to fit Akron sightseeing into the same day.
Want the outdoors? Make Cuyahoga Valley a separate outing. Start at Boston Mill Visitor Center for maps and park-planning advice, then choose a walk that fits the weather and daylight. Add a second game only when the schedules fit.
MAC football can include weekday games. This is a trip structure, not a dated itinerary or a promise of ticket availability.
Finish the plan with the official sources.
Before you book or leave
Confirm the exact fixture, kickoff, tickets, parking category, accessible arrival arrangements and return transport. Recheck attraction hours and park/weather alerts for your dates.
